iOS 9 is out for 2 days and there are several ad blocking software released based on Apple’s Content Blocker API. Peace app quickly became the number 1 paid app in the iOS app store and this happened. I was in the one of the Core Intuition Slack Channels and there was discussion about ad blockers.

Just a thought: we can draw some parallels between news and software.

  • “X is commoditised”.
  • “People don’t appreciate good X anymore”.
  • “Y just need to copy and churn out X”.
  • “No one wants to pay for (quality) X”.
  • “We don’t want to pay for X. Y can figure out another revenue stream to subsidize the production of X”.
